This piece is a reflection of my hiking experiences through Guatemala’s volcanic terrain. I attempted to capture the scale and lighting that these volcanoes create in the dead of night. Climbing Volcan Acatenango allows you to the see twin volcano next door named “Fuego” erupt every 15 minutes. When you’re 13,000 feet high in the clouds and witness this from up close, you feel the Earth’s energy in a way that’s beyond words.
